ABSTRACT

Objective:To observe the relationship between serum homocysteine (Hcy), nitric oxide (NO), high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) as well as the number and degree of coronary lesions, and the effect of Liu Junzitang combined with Erchentang on Hcy, NO, hs-CRP in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD), so as to explore the protector effect of Liu Junzitang combined with Erchentang on CHD patients. Method:A total of 76 inpatients with phlegm turbidity and internal resistance (CHD) from the Cardiovascular Department of Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) from November 2016 to April 2019 were selected to analyze the relationship between Hcy, NO, hs-CRP as well as the number and degree of coronary lesions. By lottery, the 76 patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 38 patients in each group. Patients in the control group were given conventional therapy, while patients in the observation group were given Liu Junzitang combined with Erchentang in addition to conventional therapy. The experimental period was 3 months. TCM symptom scores of the two groups before and after administration were evaluated. Hcy, NO, hs-CRP, triglyceride (TG), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), and total cholesterol (TC), apolipoprotein A1 (Apo A1), apolipoprotein B (Apo B), N-terminal B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) indicators of the two groups were measured before and after administration. Result:The levels of Hcy and hs-CRP were positively correlated with the number and degree of coronary lesions. The level of NO was negatively correlated with the number and degree of coronary lesions. TCM symptom scores were different between the two groups after treatment. Compared with the control group, the TCM symptom score in the observation group was decreased more significantly (P<0.05). The two groups could reduce Hcy, hs-CRP and increase in NO to a certain extent (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the observation group showed reduction in Hcy, hs-CRP and increase in NO more significantly (P<0.05). After treatment in both groups, TG, LDL, TC, Apo A1, Apo B and HDL were reduced (P<0.05) compared with before treatment. Compared with the control group, the observation group showed decrease in TG, LDL, TC, Apo A1, Apo B and increase in HDL more significantly (P<0.05). Both groups could increase LVEF and decrease NT-proBNP after treatment (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the observation group increased LVEF and decreased NT-proBNP more significantly (P<0.05). Conclusion:The levels of Hcy and hs-CRP were positively correlated with coronary lesions, while the level of NO was negatively correlated with coronary lesions. Modified Liu Junzitang and Erchentang may be correlated with inhibition of Hcy, hs-CRP and CHD and increase of patient's NO level, thereby reducing the patient's blood lipids, improving the patient's heart function, and improving the patient's clinical symptoms.

ABSTRACT

Serum high sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)and glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c )were detected in 89 type 2 diabetes patients with chronic periodontitis. The patients were divided into HbA1c≥ 7.0% and <7.0% groups according HbA1c levels.Serum hs-CRP,probing depth(PD),attachment loss(AL)in HbA1c ≥ 7.0% group were all significantly higher than those in <7.0% group (P <0.01 ),and serum hs-CRP was positively correlation with PD and AL in all patients. In patients with type 2 diabetes, high HbA1c and chron-ic periodontitis serum hs-CRP is positively correlation with periodontal disease.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: This study was to investigate the relations and odds ratio between hs-CRP and the risk factors of metabolic syndrome according to glucose intolerance and diabetes among the residents of a rural community. METHODS: The subjects include 1,968 adults aged from 40 to 70 who were divided into four groups and a diabetes group according to glucose intolerance to compare the relations and risk ratio between hs-CRP and the risk factors of metabolic syndrome. RESULTS: The results reveal that the greater the subjects' glucose intolerance was, the higher their hs-CRP became and the more risk factors of metabolic syndrome they had. The impaired glucose tolerance group showed 1.7 times higher blood pressure than the control group. The diabetes group showed a high odds ratio with 2.3 times higher blood pressure, 2.2 times higher abdominal obesity, and 2.4 times higher W/Ht than the control group. And the odds ratio increased significantly by 1.7 times in the hs-CRP intermediate risk group and 2.5 times in the high risk group compared with the control group. CONCLUSION: Considering the study results, it is very important to monitor abdominal obesity, blood pressure and the intermediate and high risk group of hs-CRP in order to reduce the contraction of cardiovascular diseases.

ABSTRACT

@#Objective To investigate the clinical effect of resuscitating acupuncture and scalp acupuncture on neurological function and high sensitivity C reactive protein (hs-CRP) in serum in patients with acute cerebral infarction. Methods 90 patients with acute cerebral infarction were divided into three groups: drug, routine acupuncture and resuscitating acupuncture and scalp acupuncture groups in random. They were evaluated with NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) , Modified Rankin Scale (MRS) 0, 7, 14 d after treatment, and measured with the levels of hs-CRP. Results There were significant improvements for NIHSS and MRS scores in the resuscitating acupuncture and scalp acupuncture group compared with those of the others, as well as the levels of hs-CRP. Conclusion Resuscitating acupuncture and scalp acupuncture can reduce the level of hs-CRP and improve the neurological functions in patients with acute cerebral infarction.

ABSTRACT

Objectives This study was designed to observe the correlation of the levels of serum N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP) and high sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) between the 3rd day after acute myocardial infarction(AMI) and after 3 months of left ventricular remodeling(LV remodeling) and to establish the predictive levels of NT-proBNP,hs-CRP for LV remodeling after AMI.Methods The blood samples from 106 patients with the first AMI and echocardiography were examined on the 3rd day and after 3 month.LV remodeling was estimated by the changes of left ventricular end-diastolic volume(LVEDV) during the 3rd day and after 3 month.Based on the change of LV remodeling, the 106 patients were divided into two groups:LV remodeling group(defined as the change rate of LVEDV more than 20%) and non-LV remodeling group. Results The correlation coefficients of the change of LVEDV were 0.706 for serum NT-pro BNP and 0.596 for hs-CRP.With a cutoff value of 0.20,the area under the ROC curve(AUCs) was(0.892) for NT-proBNP and 0.825 for hs-CRP.There was no statistically difference between NT-proBNP and hs-CRP.The ROC plot indicated that NT-proBNP was superior to hs-CRP for predicting LV remodeling. Conclusion The level of serum NT-proBNP appropriately reflects LV remodeling after AMI and shows more efficacious than the level of serum hs-CRP.The level of serum NT-proBNP on the 3rd day after AMI and LV remodeling were positively correlated with the level after 3 months.
